About Us
Some families need a few hours of companionship each week. Others need nursing care in a retirement residence. Qualicare Home Care Ottawa is locally owned and helps older adults and people with changing health needs stay safe, comfortable and independent across Ottawa, Kemptville, Perth, Arnprior, Rockland, Hawkesbury and Cornwall, whether they live at home or in a retirement residence. Levels of Care
Care adjusts as your loved one's needs change, from occasional visits to ongoing and overnight support. - Personal care: bathing, grooming, hygiene, mobility and transfers - Home help: meal preparation, light housekeeping and medication reminders - Companionship & outings: friendly visits, outings, appointments and transportation - Nursing care: in-home nursing from RNs and RPNs - Dementia & chronic conditions: Alzheimer's and other dementias, Parkinson's, brain injuries and other chronic conditions - Recovery care: support after a hospital stay or surgery - Respite & overnight care: a break for family caregivers, day or night - Palliative & end-of-life care: comfort and dignity at home
Approach to Care
With Qualicare's 360° Approach, great home care is about more than a list of tasks. It's about understanding the person, their family, their routines and what matters most to them. We get to know each client before building their care plan and matching them with caregivers suited to their needs and personality. Our local Ottawa office stays involved, coordinating care, keeping families informed and adjusting support when circumstances change, so you always have a team you can rely on.
Care Team
Depending on your loved one's needs, their team may include Personal Support Workers (PSWs), companions, Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), supported by our local care coordination team. We match caregivers on care needs, skills, personality, location and preferences, and we keep the same caregivers whenever possible. Our team speaks English, French, Spanish and Mandarin, and when a client needs services outside our scope, we work alongside their other healthcare providers.
Certifications, Licenses & Training
Every PSW holds a recognized PSW certificate or diploma and completes a Vulnerable Sector Check before meeting a client. Every nurse is registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and all care providers are employees covered by WSIB. Qualicare is a member of the Canadian Home Care Association.
