About Us
Qualicare Homecare Ottawa is a locally owned and operated home care provider helping older adults and individuals with changing health needs remain safe, comfortable and independent wherever they call home. We provide personalized support ranging from companionship and help with everyday activities to personal care, nursing, dementia support and more complex care needs. Through Qualicare’s 360° Approach, we look beyond individual tasks and build care around the needs, routines and goals of each client and their family.
Levels of Care
We support a wide range of care needs, from occasional companionship and household assistance to ongoing personal support and nursing care. Services can include personal care and hygiene, bathing and grooming, mobility and transfer assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, outings and appointments, respite care, medication reminders, transportation support, overnight care and nursing services. Our team also supports clients living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s disease, brain injuries and other chronic conditions, as well as clients recovering after hospitalization or surgery and families requiring palliative or end-of-life support. Care can be adjusted as a client’s needs change over time.
Approach to Care
What makes Qualicare different is our 360° Approach to care. We believe great home care is about more than completing a list of tasks — it is about understanding the person, their family, their routines and what is most important to them. We take the time to understand each client before developing an individualized care plan and matching them with caregivers who are suited to their needs and personality. Our local office remains actively involved in coordinating care, communicating with families and adapting support when circumstances change. We place a strong emphasis on caregiver consistency, communication and making families feel that they have a team they can rely on.
Care Team
Depending on the client’s needs, a Qualicare care team may include Personal Support Workers (PSWs), caregivers and companions, Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), and our local care coordination and administrative team. When selecting a caregiver, we consider the client’s care requirements, the caregiver’s skills and experience, personality and compatibility, availability, location and any important client preferences. Whenever possible, we prioritize consistency so clients can develop a comfortable and trusting relationship with familiar caregivers. For services outside our direct scope, we can also work alongside and coordinate with other healthcare professionals involved in a client’s care.
Certifications, Licenses & Training
Our nursing services are provided by appropriately registered nursing professionals, while PSW care is provided by caregivers selected based on their qualifications, experience and suitability for each client.

Our process begins with a conversation to understand the client’s current situation, care needs, routines, preferences and the concerns of the family. From there, we can arrange a complimentary assessment with a member of our care team to get a more complete understanding of the client’s needs and develop an individualized care plan. We then identify an appropriate caregiver or care team based on the level of support required and the client’s preferences. The care plan is not static. We stay in communication with the client and family and can adjust services as needs change.
