Extendicare York is a 288-bed long-term care home that provides a nurturing and supportive environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of its residents. With a variety of accommodations, including 50 private rooms, 109 semi-private rooms, and 5 basic rooms, the home is equipped to deliver 24-hour nursing and personal care. Residents benefit from access to a doctor and a team of health professionals who ensure ongoing medical support and assistance with daily living activities. The residence offers essential services such as laundry, housekeeping, meals, personal hygiene supplies, and necessary medical equipment, including catheters, ostomy bags, and wound care supplies. Staff members are dedicated to assisting residents with medication management and all activities of daily living, promoting dignity and comfort in every aspect of care. A range of recreation and social programs is available, enriching the lives of residents and fostering a sense of community. Extendicare York also features specialized services and facilities to enhance the quality of life for its residents. These include foot care, hairdressing and barber services, palliative care, pastoral care, and dental hygiene care. The home is proud to offer a Convalescent Care Program, which provides additional support for individuals recovering from illness or surgery.
