About Us
Amica Glen Abbey is a new retirement residence opening in spring 2026 in Oakville’s Palermo and West Oak Trail area. Amica Glen Abbey is designed to support safe, comfortable aging with bright suites, accessible spaces, premium amenities, chef-prepared meals, and personalized care. Residents will be able to enjoy an active lifestyle with support available as needs change.
Levels of Care
Amica Glen Abbey will offer Independent Living, Premium Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Short-Term or Respite Stays. Independent Living is designed for seniors who want a maintenance-free lifestyle with meals, services, and activities. Premium Independent Living includes larger suites with full kitchens and in-suite laundry. Assisted Living provides support with daily tasks on a dedicated floor. Memory Care offers secure, specialized dementia care with certified staff and programming designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
Accommodation Options
Suites at Amica Glen Abbey are designed to be bright, accessible, and comfortable. They include natural light, thoughtful storage, wide doorways, accessible bathrooms, grab bars, and easy-to-use hardware. Residents can choose from a variety of suite sizes and personalize their space with their own furniture and décor. Premium Independent Living suites include full kitchens, and are located on the top floor.
Studio Suites
Independent Living studio suites range from approximately 417 to 531 sq. ft. and include a private condo-style layout with a kitchenette and bathroom. Assisted Living studio suites range from approximately 363 to 507 sq. ft. and include heat, hydro, in-suite climate control, a kitchenette, and bathroom. Memory Care studio suites range from approximately 390 to 545 sq. ft. and include dementia-friendly design features such as colour cues and a personal memory box.
1-Bedroom Suites
Independent Living one-bedroom suites range from approximately 507 to 809 sq. ft. and offer a separate bedroom, living space, kitchenette, and bathroom. Premium Independent Living one-bedroom suites range from approximately 636 to 662 sq. ft. and include a full kitchen, washer, dryer, and top-floor location. Assisted Living one-bedroom suites range from approximately 527 to 687 sq. ft. and include heat, hydro, in-suite climate control, a kitchenette, and bathroom. Memory Care one-bedroom suites range from approximately 544 to 687 sq. ft. and include supportive dementia-friendly design features.
1-Bedroom With Den Suites
Independent Living one-bedroom plus den suites range from approximately 608 to 809 sq. ft. and provide extra space for a desk, sitting area, hobby room, or guest space. Premium Independent Living one-bedroom plus den suites range from approximately 852 to 909 sq. ft. and include a full kitchen, washer, dryer, and top-floor location.
2-Bedroom Suites
Independent Living two-bedroom suites range from approximately 790 to 904 sq. ft. and offer generous storage and living space, with one or two bathrooms depending on the layout. Premium Independent Living two-bedroom suites range from approximately 887 to 909 sq. ft., while two-bedroom plus den suites range from approximately 1,051 to 1,122 sq. ft. Premium suites include a full kitchen, washer, dryer, and top-floor location, with select suites offering balconies.
Support Services
Amica Glen Abbey will offer flexible care built around each resident’s needs and routines. A nurse will be on site 24/7, with professional wellness staff available around the clock. Support may include medication management, bathing, dressing, grooming, continence care, escort assistance, oxygen support, wound care, diabetes care, dementia care, catheter care, feeding tube support, and mechanical or hydraulic lift assistance. Assisted Living and Memory Care residents will receive additional included services such as personal laundry, daily room tidy, weekly housekeeping, bathing support, and emergency response pendants monitored on site.
Amenities
Residents will have access to premium amenities including a library, fitness centre, swimming pool, games room with billiards, fireplace lounges, craft kitchen, home theatre, hair salon and spa, greenhouse, grand outdoor terrace, and Wi-Fi in common areas. The residence will also offer concierge services, scheduled transportation for shopping and excursions, private dining spaces, dedicated dining and lounge areas for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, and secure Memory Care spaces designed to support safety and comfort.
Activities
Life enrichment staff will organize recreational, social, creative, and fitness programs. Residents may enjoy movie nights, creative workshops, guest speakers, seasonal events, cultural outings, cooking demonstrations, painting classes, flower arranging, music events, volunteering, walking club, strength training, and brain fitness programs. Memory Care residents will have access to specialized group and one-on-one programs, sensory activity kits, weekly outings, and personalized tools such as “My Life Story Book” and “My Life Story Box.”
Dining
Dining at Amica Glen Abbey will be led by Red Seal certified chefs using fresh ingredients and dietitian-approved menus. Residents can choose from seasonal daily menus, à la carte favourites, themed meals, and special occasion menus. Meals can be enjoyed in the full-service dining room, self-serve bistro, patio, private dining room, or by room service. Assisted Living and Memory Care residents will have dedicated dining rooms on their floors, with snacks and beverages available throughout the day. The kitchen can accommodate special diets and preferences.
