Applewood Retirement Residence is a warm, family-oriented community that has been part of Peterborough since 1988. Levels of Care
Applewood provides flexible care options that change as residents’ needs change: Independent Living: Ideal for older adults who want a social, maintenance-free lifestyle with meals, housekeeping, activities, and amenities included. Assisted Living / Wellness and Care Services: Personalized support is available 24/7 from trained staff under the supervision of the Director of Care. Services can include help with daily activities, medication management, monitoring health needs, and arranging additional supports as required. Respite and Short Stays: Offered for recovery after hospital stays, when a caregiver is away, or for individuals wanting to try retirement living before making a decision. Guests receive meals, care, activities, and access to the full community.

Applewood offers studio and one-bedroom suites designed for comfort and safety. Each suite features: Large windows and private patio or balcony in many layouts Ensuite bathroom with safety bars; some with walk-in showers and shower seats Large closet Fridge and microwave; some suites include small kitchenettes with sink and cupboard space Emergency response system for 24-hour peace of mind Individual climate control Cable, telephone, and internet access in the bedroom and living room Suites can be personalized with residents’ own furniture, décor, and photos.
