Good Samaritan Retirement Lodge, affectionately known as 'Good Sam', is a well-regarded establishment in Alliston and Simcoe County, with a strong reputation for providing quality care and services. Originally opened in 1973, this privately owned complex was reconfigured in 2002 with the construction of a new long-term care home and the renovation of the previous home to open as the adjoining retirement lodge in 2004. Nestled in the heart of a vibrant agricultural area, Alliston offers a picturesque farm landscape conveniently located near major cities. The community is vibrant and growing, maintaining its small-town atmosphere while offering a wonderful quality of life. It is rich with volunteers and active community groups, hosting events like The Alliston Potato Festival and Hometown Christmas.
Levels of Care
Good Samaritan Retirement Lodge provides a comprehensive service package that includes both accommodation and care services, ensuring residents are well taken care of. The lodge also offers short stay Respite Care.
Accommodation Options
Good Samaritan Retirement Lodge offers a variety of suite types, each equipped with internet hook-up, and telephone and cable TV arranged with the local utility. The suites are designed with modern amenities and great views.
Studio Suites
The Bachelor Suites range from 205 to 278 sq. ft. and include a 4-piece ensuite bathroom and a spacious closet.
1-Bedroom Suites
The One-Bedroom Suites range from 544 to 585 sq. ft. and include a kitchenette, a separate bedroom and living room, a large walk-in closet, and a large 4-piece ensuite bathroom.
Support Services
The lodge includes health care in its basic package, offering medication administration, pharmacist consultant services, bathing assistance, emergency response, and more. Residents have access to outside health services such as CCAC services, visiting MD, physiotherapy, dental care, audiologist, foot care, lab services, optometrist, and speech therapy. Each room is equipped with an Emergency Response System and residents can contact the nursing station through their telephone.
Amenities
The lodge features 24 bright, modern, ground-level retirement suites with great views of the beautiful grounds. The building is equipped with sprinklers and Fire/Smoke Alarms throughout.
Activities
The community hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including The Alliston Potato Festival, Alliston Farmers Market, Canada Day Celebration, and Hometown Christmas. The vibrant community is rich with volunteers and active groups in sports, arts, culture, and charitable endeavors.
Dining
Residents enjoy three meals per day in the dining room with two choices at each meal, along with three snacks a day.
