We're able to offer shifts as short as one hour with minimum $33/hr, so families aren't locked into large minimum bookings when all they need is a bit of extra support — whether that's help getting to an appointment, a short respite break, or just checking in. All of our caregivers are vetted, trained, and certified, so families across Durham Region can trust who's walking through their door. And because navigating the financial side of care shouldn't be another burden on top of everything else, we offer direct billing to GreenShield and Veterans Affairs Canada — so eligible families and Veterans can access the care they need without paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. At the end of the day, we want families to feel like they have a partner who's flexible, trustworthy, and makes this easier — not harder.
Levels of Care
We provide a full range of home care support across Durham Region — from companionship and light daily assistance to personal support worker (PSW) care for hands-on needs like bathing, dressing, and mobility. We offer both live-in and live-out arrangements, plus flexible shifts starting at just one hour for families who only need occasional support. we specialize with Dimentia & Alzhimers Care and we also help families navigate the financial and logistical side of care — including GreenShield coverage and Veterans Affairs Canada or any other benefits — so getting the right support in place is as simple as possible.

Initial Assessment Overview Ideal Caregivers 4U - Durham Region
At Ideal Caregivers 4U - Durham Region, our initial assessment process is designed to ensure each client receives personalized, high-quality care tailored to their unique needs. We begin with an online registration process, where clients or their Power of Attorney (POA) complete the required intake information. This is followed by a complimentary, comprehensive consultation—either in-home or virtual—during which we take the time to understand the client’s health status, daily routines, preferences, and specific care requirements. Family members or representatives are encouraged to participate to ensure all expectations and concerns are thoroughly addressed. At the end of the consultation, we provide a clear estimate of the cost of care. If the client is comfortable with the proposed pricing, we proceed with developing a customized care plan outlining the level of support required, scheduling, and any special considerations. We then thoughtfully match the client with a caregiver whose skills, experience, and personality best align with their needs. Once services begin, we maintain ongoing communication and conduct regular check-ins to ensure client satisfaction and make any necessary adjustments to the care plan.
